About Dr. Tuli

Dr. Tuli received her medical degree and completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She then practiced Internal Medicine in the United States Air Force for several years prior to completing a Hematology-Oncology fellowship and specialty training in bone marrow transplant at Wilford Hall Medical Center/Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas.  In 2007 she moved to Mississippi as faculty for the Keesler Medical Center Internal Medicine residency program. Since 2009 she has been practicing hematology-oncology at Memorial Hospital of Gulfport. She has served as faculty for Merit Health Wesley Internal Medicine Residency program since 2016 and the Memorial Family Practice residency of Gulfport since 2021.

About Dr. Allen

Dr. Summer Allen completed medical school, residency, and fellowship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC). Originally from Dallas, she completed her undergraduate degree in Texas and taught school for several years before deciding to pursue a medical career. She attended UMMC and graduated medical school in 2010, finished her fellowship in pulmonary critical care in 2016, and was chief fellow her last year in school. She is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary, and Critical Care.  She currently works as a pulmonologist and intensivist at Memorial Health System and Merit Health in Biloxi. Her passion is using navigational bronchoscopy to biopsy lung nodules and diagnose lung cancer at an early stage. Dr. Allen presented at the CHEST conference in Nashville, discussing lung biopsies using different navigational systems. Dr. Allen also presented at the American Thoracic Society in Washington, DC, discussing navigational systems to diagnose interstitial lung disease.

She lives in Biloxi with her two daughters and two dogs.  She enjoys watching her daughters play sports and traveling.

About Dr. Schepens

Steven Schepens, MD is a 1996 graduate of the University of South Alabama College of Medicine and completed his residency in 1999 at the University of South Alabama Department of Family Medicine. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine and a former assistant professor at the University of Alabama Department of Family Medicine. He has more than 20 years of experience treating all aspects of medical care but is particularly focused on management of chronic disease such as diabetes and hypertension.

Memorial Health System accepts applications for medical students to complete a variety of rotations. Interested applicants can request rotations by completing the Medical Student Rotation Request Form. Please complete this form and email it to Lakeshia Smith who is our Medial Education & Advanced Learner Coordinator and is responsible for servicing all our medical students, audition rotations, international medical graduates/observerships (IMG’s) and APP rotations.
