About Donna Felder

Donna Felder first joined Memorial Hospital in 1998. She has served in numerous roles throughout the system, including positions in Human Resources and Physician Compensation. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from The University of Southern Mississippi and later obtained her Professional in Human Resources certification. In May 2025, she was named Program Coordinator for the Internal Medicine Residency Program. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time on her farm, raising livestock, and tending to her garden.

About Gene Moran

A Mississippi Gulf Coast native, Gene Moran has been part of the Memorial Hospital at Gulfport staff for 8 years. During that time, he served in Human Resources as a Data Management Analyst. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis on entrepreneurship from The University of Southern Mississippi. He was named program coordinator for the Internal Medicine residency program in May 2021.

Medical Student Information

Memorial Health System accepts applications for medical students to complete a variety of rotations. Interested applicants can request rotations by completing the Medical Student Rotation Request Form. Please complete this form and email it to Lakeshia Smith who is our Medial Education & Advanced Learner Coordinator and is responsible for servicing all our medical students, audition rotations, international medical graduates/observerships (IMG’s) and APP rotations. Please reach out to her with any questions or concerns you have about rotation requests. She can be reached at lasmith@mhg.com or (228) 867-5019 and would be happy to assist each of you. If your school is a participating institution and you would like to request audition rotations and electives, we can also be found on the Visiting Student Learning Opportunities Platform (VSLO) at: visitingstudents@aamc.org.

About Dr. Conger

Dr. Conger is a board-certified physician in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases. Born in Oklahoma City and raised in Edmond, Oklahoma, he moved to Texas to attend the university of Dallas, and earned his Medical Doctorate at the University of Texas at Houston.  Dr. Conger served in the United States Air Force for 21 years. During that time, he completed his internal medicine residency ID fellowship training at Wilford Hall Medical Center. During his time in the Air Force, Dr. Conger practiced medicine at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, at Landstuhl Hospital in Germany, Keesler Medical Center in Biloxi, Mississippi, and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton Ohio. His time in the Air Force also included four months at a theater hospital in Iraq.  Dr. Conger has been a Chief Resident and Associate Program Director for internal medicine residency programs at multiple institutions for many years, as well as an APD for The Air Force’s Infectious Diseases fellowship training program. Dr. Conger also has experience as the Infectious Diseases Consultant to the Surgeon General for Europe as well as the Infectious Diseases Consultant to the Surgeon General of the Air Force. Currently practicing medicine at Memorial Hospital, Gulfport, Dr. Conger is excited at the opportunity to develop internal medicine residency on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

About Dr. Cowart

Dr. Dasha Cowart was born in Hattiesburg, MS and raised in Stone County. She has resided with her family on the Gulf Coast since completing training in 2017. She completed her medical education at William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Hattiesburg, MS, and finished her training in Internal Medicine at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth, MS. At Memorial, she serves as Internal Medicine Co-chair, Co-Medical Director of the hospitalist department, and also participates in numerous committees. She is married to Benjamin Cowart, a local realtor, and they have two children, Avery and Brooks.

About Dr. Baroudi

For over 25 years Dr Baroudi has been serving the residents of the Gulf Coast as an Interventional Cardiologist. He has done so both through Coast Heart Institute—a cardiology private practice he established in 1999 in Gulfport MS—and through working as a cardiology consultant at Memorial Hospital at Gulfport, where he served terms as a Chief of Cardiology, a member of the Medical Executive Committee, a member of MQRC, and Director of the CHF Clinic. Dr. Baroudi obtained his M.D. degree from the University of Damascus School of Medicine, Damascus, Syria. He finished his residency in Internal Medicine and his cardiology fellowship from Case Western Reserve – MetroHealth and Mt. Sinai Medical center, Cleveland, OH. Dr. Baroudi is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Intervention. Outside of his regular workload, Dr. Baroudi mentors both local and international medical students and Residents, and has started a multi-specialty clinic in Dubai, UAE.
