Research Day 2025

Calling all medical residents, students, and pharmacy residents! Memorial is thrilled to announce GME Research Day 2025, scheduled for March 26, 2025. We invite you to submit your completed projects or works-in-progress (starting February 14, 2025) for a chance to present at this prestigious event.

Prizes will be awarded for the best poster and oral presentations, with awards for 1st and 2nd places on March 26th at The Chapel at Centennial Plaza. Submission Guidelines

Event Overview: Memorial Hospital’s Annual GME Research Day is an opportunity for students and residents to present their research, network with peers, and receive feedback on their presentation skills.

Presentation Format: Submitting authors of accepted abstracts will be invited for an in-person poster presentation or selected to give an oral presentation on March 26, 2025 at The Chapel at Centennial Plaza. Prizes will be given to the 1st and 2nd place authors for best poster and oral presentations.

Author Eligibility

  • The submitting author must currently be enrolled in a medical school program (MD, DO) or enrolled in a medical or pharmacy residency program with Memorial Hospital at Gulfport.
  • Authors may also be from the affiliate programs listed:
    • Keesler Medical Center, William Carey COM, or Forrest General.
  • Medical Students must be either currently rotating or have completed a rotation at Memorial Hospital during the last academic year.

Abstract Eligibility

  • Research abstracts should address scientific questions, detail clinical observations, or contain primary scientific data.
  • Case studies are eligible for submission.
  • Abstracts must not have been submitted to Memorial Hospital’s Research Day in prior years.

Submission Components

  • Complete the Research Day Submission Form. Forms should be signed by the submitting author and Faculty Advisor.
  • Students and Residents at Memorial Hospital must have a faculty member as an author. The faculty member on the project may be different from the advisor.
  • Email form to Emily Hughes, PhD, at ehughes@mhg.com.
