About Dr. Hamid

Dr. Sarah Hamid went to Medical School at the Dow Medical College, Karachi, Pakistan. After moving to the United States, she completed her Internal Medicine Residency at the University of South Alabama. Currently, she is enrolled in a Masters program in Medical Education at the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Hamid joined Gulfport Memorial as a hospitalist physician in 2021. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and has a keen interest in teaching; specifically is passionate about curriculum development, scholarly activities and resident wellness. Her interests outside of medicine include cosmetology, travelling and exploring new cuisines.

About Keaton

Dr. Keaton entered into the United States Air Force in 2011. He received his MD from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center – Shreveport in Shreveport, LA. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium in San Antonio, TX. Dr. Keaton moved to Mississippi in 2018 and served as Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine residency at Keesler Medical Center for two years prior to separating from the Air Force and taking his current position as a Hospitalist at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport, MS.

About Dr. Khan

Dr. Khan is born and raised in Karachi, Pakistan. She went to medical school in Karachi. Her internal medicine residency training was at Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, New York City, NY where she was PGY4 Chief Resident and junior faculty from 2017-2018. She then moved to Roswell, NM and worked with Kymera Independent Physicians as an Internist. She joined Memorial Hospital at Gulfport in 2021. She was a section editor for the book “Master the Boards -Internal Medicine, by Conrad Fischer” and was a medical technical advisor for “Aleppo-the film”. She has been actively involved in research and academics and was part of scholastic committee during her residency and chief residency. She was a very active member of “PWA-Patient welfare association, Karachi”. She likes to travel, is an amateur race car driver and volunteers at school district in her free time.

About Dr. Kotti

Dr. George Kotti is a 2003 graduate of the Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, Maryland.  He went on to complete a residency and fellowship at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.  Following graduation he was transferred to Keesler Medical Center in Mississippi where he served as teaching faculty for the Keesler Internal Medicine residency until he joined Memorial Hospital Gulfport as full time Intensivist in 2016.  His time at Keesler included medical directorships of the ICU, pulmonary clinic and sleep lab, and he developed expertise in the safe and expeditious transport of critically ill and wounded service members around the world.  Dr Kotti has a passion for teaching, airplanes and critical care medicine.  He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, Sleep Medicine and Critical Care Medicine, and currently serves as a member of the core faculty for the Internal Medicine residency at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport.

About Gretchen Holmes, Ph.D

Gretchen Holmes currently oversees all medical education, including graduate medical education and clinical research, for Memorial Hospital at Gulfport. As the Designated Institutional Official (DIO), Dr. Holmes has the authority and responsibility for all ACGME-accredited programs sponsored by Memorial Previously, Dr. Holmes served as the GME Director of Research for multiple hospital systems and as the DIO/Director of GME for Orange Park Medical Center in Orange Park, Florida. Dr. Holmes is an experienced researcher, having published in numerous top-tier journals. She regularly teaches courses at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Behavior Change Theory and has served as a national-level patient advocate for the National Cancer Institute for 15 years. Dr. Holmes holds a bachelor of science degree in communication and a master of arts in communication and media ecology from New York University and a Ph.D. in health communication with a graduate certificate in medical behavioral science from the University of Kentucky.
